About Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is a friendly, intelligent, and highly trainable dog breed known for its gentle temperament and loyalty. Originally bred for retrieving games in Canada, Labradors excel in hunting, service work, and family companionship. They are highly energetic, requiring daily exercise such as walks, swimming, or fetch games. Labradors are social dogs that get along well with children, other pets, and strangers. Their short, dense coat is water-resistant and comes in three main colors: black, yellow, and chocolate. Labradors have a strong appetite, so careful portion control is recommended to prevent obesity.

What to Avoid
Labrador Retrievers are prone to obesity, so avoid overfeeding and giving too many high-calorie treats. Certain human foods can be toxic or harmful, including chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, and anything with xylitol. Avoid feeding large amounts of fatty or processed foods. Also, avoid overly strenuous exercise for puppies whose bones and joints are still developing, and be cautious of high-impact activities for older Labradors with potential joint issues.
